Read
We have a responsibility to educate ourselves about the systematic racism which continues to thrive in Australia. The Cockburn Library offers an excellent list of books by Indigenous Australians, which you can access via the link below. This also includes Bruce Pascoe’s ‘Dark Emu’, which he spoke about at the Bono Wiener Memorial Lecture.

Protest
If you are able to, there will be a peaceful rally held in Melbourne on Saturday the 6th of June seeking justice for George Floyd and putting an end to Aboriginal deaths in police custody. Speak Up!
Liking and re-posting on social media is a good start, but it won’t solve this problem. It is only by talking about Australia’s systematic racism that we can begin to find a path to justice. We cannot allow this to be swept under the carpet. It’s time to have the tough conversations and speak out.
